The Dream Realised

About me: When I was 18 I dropped my lifelong dream of being a Vet to study wine, because a glass of Côtes du Rhône was like a kiss of life, and thanks to my father this quickly turned into Châteauneuf-du-Pape  and Champagne. I became obsessed with aroma and sensory science, how the wine transforms with time and how it marries with food in a social setting. Ten years later I’m still in the wine game, and loving every moment. Read more about my story here.

A born wanderer and wine lover, I also enjoy gardening and cooking healthy food. My life in wine inspires me to write. Writing about these things inspires my life.

In early 2014 my partner and I packed our lives into 7kg bags and travelled around Central America. I learnt Spanish, and tasted cuisine that blew my mind. This was just the beginning of a life long quest to travel as much as possible. With many trips since then I have been exploring travel writing (and travel- wine writing) which is a really exciting avenue for me to explore here.

When I started Taste Flutter, I was an assistant in a wine shop and it felt like I had all the time in the world. Today I am a Sales Manager for a small New Zealand wine producer across two countries, so sometimes it’s a challenge to find the time to write. Still when I do it is the most satisfying thing, and its readers like you that keep me going. If something resonates for you, or you would like me to write something for you, please get in touch. Passionate about wine from grapes to glass,  I want to share this passion the best way I know how.

The Taste Flutter Concept

A highly visual person, I often see wine in shapes and colour. The hummingbird and frame around the outside, encapsulates the concept and the colourful array of sensations that a fusion of tastes can elucidate. I aim to flutter about, collecting my myriad thoughts on the matter in a whirlwind of words and colours.

Lightbox Creative took this concept and made it a reality. You can see more of their work here.
